The Dragon Bridge fire and water show is a free evening performance held at the dragon’s head on the eastern side of the bridge. During the show, the dragon breathes several bursts of fire before releasing powerful sprays of water over the Han River.
Traffic across the bridge is temporarily stopped while the performance takes place, allowing visitors to watch from the pedestrian areas, nearby riverbanks and streets around the dragon’s head. The show lasts around 10–15 minutes and has become one of Da Nang’s most popular weekend activities.

Tran Hung Dao Street is the most active street-level viewing area near the dragon’s head. From here, you can watch the flames from close range without standing directly on the bridge.
The area also connects easily with Son Tra Night Market, Love Bridge and the Dragon Carp Statue, so it becomes crowded well before the show begins. Come early, keep your phone protected and expect some water if you stand near the front.
2. Han River East Bank Walkway

Bach Dang Street gives you a calmer, wider view of the dragon’s body stretching across the river. You will be farther from the flames, but you can see more of the illuminated bridge and surrounding skyline.
The broad promenade and greater distance from the dragon’s head make this a comfortable choice for families with young children or anyone who wants to avoid the heat, noise and sudden water spray.

Avoid planning to cross the bridge by motorbike or car close to showtime. Traffic is temporarily stopped shortly before the performance.

Will There Be Fireworks At Dragon Bridge For Western and Lunar New Year?
Fireworks are not normally launched from Dragon Bridge itself. The bridge and the surrounding riverfront may still become part of Da Nang’s New Year celebrations, but the actual fireworks are set off from locations approved separately by the city.
Western New Year
For the 2025–2026 New Year period, Da Nang held concerts, countdown activities, food events and evening performances around the East Bank Park of Dragon Bridge and Bach Dang Walking Street. The official programme did not list a fireworks launch from Dragon Bridge.
New Year plans can change each December, so do not choose a viewing spot based on an assumed fireworks display. Check the latest programme from Da Nang’s official tourism channels before heading to the river.
Lunar New Year
For Lunar New Year 2026, Da Nang held a 15-minute midnight fireworks display at six approved locations across the city. Dragon Bridge was not one of the launch sites, although one central display was held near the intersection of Bach Dang Street and Binh Minh 6.
The bridge had its own extended fire and water schedule during the Tet holiday. On Lunar New Year’s Eve itself, the dragon performed a water-only show at midnight rather than its usual fire-and-water sequence. Holiday arrangements change each year, so check the confirmed schedule before visiting.
The Role Of Dragon Bridge During The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF 2026)
Dragon Bridge was not where the DIFF 2026 fireworks were launched, but it was still one of the liveliest places to watch them for free. From the bridge, you could see the fireworks rising over the Han River, with the city lights and reflections spreading across the water.
Watching from Dragon Bridge was less about seeing every stage effect and more about being part of the evening. Locals and visitors gathered along the bridge, Bach Dang Street and Tran Hung Dao Street, finding space wherever they could and waiting for the first fireworks to appear above the river.
It was worth arriving between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. By early evening, the riverfront was already filling up, and getting close to the bridge became more difficult as showtime approached. Parking a little farther away and walking towards the river was usually easier than trying to drive into the busiest streets.
